A Guide to Screensaver Installation

This will be a quick installation walk-through that should help you get your new screensavers installed to your liking. This guide is currently only available for Windows users. You should consult your Help guide if you use a different Operating System to choose an installation location suitable for your system.

The installer packages contain 3 items, a screensaver, a read me text and an un-installer. That's it, nothing more. The important thing is where you want your screensaver to be.

Let's install the Christmas 4 Screensaver:

Find the executable installation pack in the
folder where you downloaded it.
This is the Icon for our new installation packages.
Double click or run it.

You should see this installation start up menu. Select next to continue.

The next step is our End User License Agreement. Please read it to be sure you agree before installing the screensaver. Select accept to continue.

Your destination folder determines where the Screensaver is installed. The default setting creates a Sub-directory in Windows. You may choose another destination, but for Windows users, I recommend the default installation. I've had some problems with un-installation files being overwritten in the past. That's one of the motivating factors behind this default setting.
If you choose 'Install', the screensaver will immediately install.
If you choose 'Next', you will move on to Program Folder selection.

Your program folder determines where the programs will be listed in your Start Menu. Since the screensavers were repacked, All will go to this single directory by default. You may customize it if you like.
If you choose 'Install', the screensaver will immediately install.
If you choose 'Next', you will move on to a confirmation menu.

Check your installation settings and confirm them. If you need to fix something, choose 'Back'. If you're ready to go select 'Install'.

And your Screensaver is installing!

Once the installation is completed, you can get more instructions
by reading the 'Read Me' file. And optionally, the Screensaver will
automatically start when you finish the installation.

How To Add Your New Screensaver To Windows Display Properties Menu

This quick guide will add your screensaver to the Windows Display Properties Menu based on the default installation guide mentioned above.

Most Windows users have a nifty little button on the bottom left side of their screen. It may be somewhere else, but find Start and open the menu.

Find the Breath Of Life Ministries Folder in your start Menu and hover over it to open it up.

Let's look at the Christmas 4 Screensaver we just installed. Right click the Screensaver and you will get some options.

Test displays the Screensaver, testing to see that it works on your monitor.

Choosing this option will actually open the folder where the Screensaver is installed.

Configuration options vary depending on the type of Screensaver. You can modify the configuration in this menu option.

Choosing 'Install' from this menu will add your Screensaver
to the Windows Display Properties Menu. There you can choose
additional system options like which Screensaver to use and
how long to wait before your Screensaver starts.

There you have it! It isn't complicated. It might seem like a lot, but I've really micro-stepped through it. If you have any issues with your installation, please let us know and we'll do our best to help.

Known Installation Issues And How To Fix Them

Currently there's only one known issue with some of our previous installations. It turns out that some of them didn't go to the directories I intended for them to go to. And some were sent to a different Start menu program group. The bottom line is this...some of the un-installation packages won't work in some of our older installations.
In case you've encountered this and don't know how to fix it, please let me apologize and offer my assistance.

First, check your Start Menu to see if you have this specific program group. Please take care ... the unused program group has the word 'Online' in its name.
This isn't a huge problem, its just a matter of organization. If you have this folder in your Start Menu and you'd like to re-organize, simply download the Screensaver and install it to its current default location.

Once you've re-installed the Screensavers, you can simply remove this folder from your Start Menu and that will get them organized for you.

If you have any older installations of our Screensavers that you can't un-install, unless someone on your PC put them somewhere else they are in your WINDOWS folder. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but the fix is pretty easy.

To simplify this. open your WINDOWS folder and rearrange your icons by their type. This will group all your file types together and all of your screensaver files will be together in one place and easier to find.

If you find any of our old Screensavers in WINDOWS and you would like to un-install or remove them from the folder, just delete the file.

Please use caution when deleting files in this folder. Be absolutely certain it is the Screensaver file you have chosen and don't delete anything else unless you're an advanced User and know how it will impact your system. It isn't terribly delicate, but if you're not absolutely sure, just leave it alone. It isn't going to hurt anything to store the program there and its safer than having a potential accident.

The technical reason for this problem is that the un-installation file that is created for each Screensaver only goes to the main root directory. If all installations are going to the same root directory, each successive un-installer overwrites the previous one. It doesn't do anything harmful to your system, it just makes the un-installation program fail. Having the Screensaver in this folder is perfectly harmless and in fact it automatically lists it in your Display Properties Menu. To un-install it, the file must be physically deleted if another Screensaver has been installed there as well.
